Join expert local plastic surgeon, Dr. Paul Pierce, as he explores in detail DIEP Flap breast reconstruction in which fat, skin, and blood vessels are cut from the wall of the lower belly and moved up to the chest.

Dr. Paul Pierce M.D. is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with a private practice in Colorado Springs that focuses on breast and body cosmetic procedures and breast reconstruction. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He then attended The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and graduated in 2007 with the added prestige of Alpha Omega Alpha membership and The Hitoshi C. Nikaidoh MD Award for Humanism in Medicine.

Following medical school, Dr. Pierce completed a six-year residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.  He then chose to pursue additional training and completed a one-year fellowship in hand and microsurgery at NYU.  Dr. Pierce entered private practice in Dallas, Texas in 2014 and spent five years as a partner at Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, one of the most prestigious plastic surgery groups in the country. But, the desire for a better work-life balance brought Dr. Pierce and his family to Colorado Springs in 2020.

When he isn’t operating or seeing patients in the office, Dr. Pierce enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. He is also an avid runner and has completed multiple half-marathons and one full marathon. Dr. Pierce has backpacked across Europe with no reservations, run with the bulls in Spain, surfed in Costa Rica, flown a prop plane over the Monarch Pass, completed a solo ascent of Longs Peak, and wore a pink mohawk to raise money for the Susan G. Komen fight against breast cancer. He also enjoys hiking, skiing, and reading anything he can get his hands on.
